right side speakers cut out under load
i took out my sub and amp for a while now and left the RCA cables laying in the back. the other day i was listening to a CD and screaching sounds starting coming out. after that, it smelled like something fried. after i disconnected the RCA cables the deck worked fine.
problem is, whenever i turn on the headlights or turn on the heater in the car the sound cuts out on the right side. it sucks only having sound on the left side.
i know i f-ed up and i probably need a new deck, right? what do you guys think?
...all other wiring is good. swapped speakers L-R & R-L and still only left side works under load. when no load (headlights/heater off) everything works fine.

Yep, probably shorted out the preamp output, [right side], not sure why problem is only there when lights or heater is on but I bet it has something to do with current.
