Default H22 IN AN EK AT THE TRACK QUESTION????

WHAT THE BEST RPM TO TAKE OFF AT WITH A H22A INSIDE AN EK... AND FROM WHAT GEAR TO WHAT GEAR SOULD I POWER SHIFT..

im running on rota gt 16" and some god forsaking who know what tire i bought long ago.. but it aint no brand name tire like falken..
the tire is the lowest low profile... 140/45/16 i think......i forgot the middle nummber not to sure.. im trying to waste the tire before i get some new falken..
if u can tell me what the best size tire for 16", it will be greatly appreciated

my suspension: kyb adjustable in front and it is set to 2, kyb non adjustable in back. on top of that is skunk 2 coilovers

my mods: skunk2 adjustable cams, unorthadox pulley set( car has P/S no A/C), ES Muffler with 3 inch piping(from previous ls vtec turbo).

p.s what i meant by power shifting is that for example im going from 2nd to 3rd without letting go of the gas

you shouldn't power shift, and take off depends on more tires and traction equipment than engine and chassis.

You need to tell us more, what tires, what pressure, what traction system, what suspension, what mods, which H22, which EK, what is the track like

Answer that and i'll answer you, but until then... what are you even asking for.

And why would you power shift an H, you can shift that tranny so fast it doesn't even matter!!!!!!!

rev to like 5800 and feather the clutchand do not power shift!! its not only bad but it actually makes you slower unless of course you have 3 step

i chose that method for launching cuz im going to assume your on street tires cuz if you were on slicks or drag radials you wouldnt be asking this question

just launch off the limiter and slip the clutch while you feather the gas off the line.

i thought you couldn't powershift h motors because the cable trany's don't like going into gear at high rpm's

DO NOT launch off the line!!

we need to know more about the traction setup before saying anyhting other than to tell this guy not to power shift, and I don't even know what he was talking about power shifting from what gear to what gear, like first to third?

and power shifting is not what you do with a 3 step, you still use the clutch with a 3 step, you just don't lift the gas, its pretty much the opposite of power shifting

and H trannies have no problem changing gears at high revvs.

we need more info on this kat's setup!!!

if he starts at the limiter and works his way down till he finds the sweet spot he will do just fine. just do not drop the clutch. slip the clutch off the line while feathering the gas to get traction. also preloading the suspension will help.

cable trannies have problems shifting at high rpm's that is the whole reason that they are making tranny adapter plates to bolt either b-series or d-series hydo trannies onto the h-series motor.

that is usually what people mean by powershifting

hence the reason i said GET SOME and just to let you know driving on a strip is nothing like driving on the street and i never said you had to get slicks. and trust me you wont be able to smoke fast cars

some drag radials would be your best bet. that will probably be the best mod for your car at this point. azenis are ok but have very stiff sidewalls.
