this may be a stupid question but will a distributor cap and rotor and wires from a d series work on a b series?

too bad wires will not...

the height from the plug to the valve cover is different. and the dizzy won't fit either.

the cap and rotor should swap over in some cases... i used a d15b8 cap and rotor on my b16a.

All of the internal components of the dist will swap over. The actual housing that attaches to the head will not because the mounting holes are positioned differently. I had to use all the internal components off my D-series dizzy on my B16A swap because the dizzy on that was gutted. Worked and still works fine. They may not work between OBDs though, like OBD1 dizzy components in an OBD2 dizzy, but I doubt this is the case. And when I say I used all the internals I mean all of them, not just the cap and rotor.
