open header

ok well someone wants to buy my cat back so im gonna sell it. i dont have a exhaust to put on right away so i will have to be driving open header. is it bad?? its a ls motor. i hope to have to drive like that for more than 2 weeks. let me know whats up

theres only a couple times i run open header...on the way to the track, and from my house to the muffler shop..unless u live in an area where they dnt care about sound pollution u will get pulled over

I only have from my house to the muffler shop, and it is loud as hell!!!

i daily drove a open header LS for over a month....it was interesting. surprisingly i didn't get one ticket, let alone pulled over. sometimes is was a little weird having EVERYONE at an intersection look at you when you pull away but it felt really cool when you got on it and your butt tickled to the point where you had to scratch it.....when i got my exhaust hooked back up...i noticed an incredible difference. my car was fast again

You need some pipe after the header for the best flow. Back pressure is a myth but exhaust scavenging isnt. Even a few feet of straight pipe after the header will get it to flow better.

Same here but with a b16.

The only advantage is driving by pedestrians and hitting the big cam at the same time. haha
