The LS has a longer stroke than the B18C1.

The Si B16A Head flows better than the GS-R Head.

B20's and H22's won't give you the revs to produce huge amounts of HP, just torque.

Therefore, the B16A Head and B18A or B18B block is the best combination.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT leave the factory pistons in the block. You will get burned by every Geo Metro that sees you.

1. the ls' longer stroke keeps revs down
2.the b16 flow less than 5 % better at like 10k rpm plus it would most likely be p+p so they would flow the same............ but higher compression on the gsr
3.btw there is nothing huge about honda hp, look at the fastest all motor cars H22's around 270 whp and 2.0 gsr and b20vtec's are in the 240- 250 whp range
4.why the b16/b18 combo? b16/b20 = more tq (makes the car faster)
5. h22 best all motor stock or full race period

btw i have a fully built b20vtec going into a 90 hatch, h22 really doesn't fit well

b16a head and b18a or b best combination? TORQUE=b20 block. flow=b18c5 head. b20/b18c5=best combo.

I don't understand why the b20 would be able to rev less than an LS, being that they share the same stroke and deck height. B20 just has a larger bore, explain this to me.

Does this mean the B18 block can safely be bored to 2.0L?

The CRV piston is heavier.

The B20 piston may be heavier. But only minimally so (By no more than a factor of (84/81)^2. Probably somewhat less, as I don't think skirt thickness is any different). This would hardly affect rev capacity.

Please check out my dyno for my b20/vtec. Now my ecu has no rev limit (actually 10000 rpms) and I shift at 9200 rpms now. If built right, b20 can rev high and still be reliable.
