motor makin a tickin noise
just got my 2nd gsr swap fully rebuilt, theres a tickin noise not too loud thought it was comin from the head, now i think it might be from the block, any ideas?? its an all motor gsr
I don't want to say its probably detonation. . .so I suggest rechecking all valves clearances and make sure nuts are tight. I had the same problem after adjusting valves, but I am thinking I didn't allow the motor to be dead cold.

repeat.. head is not making the noise, it sounds liek pistons r tappin slightly, nothing major, it was drivin about 100 miles today and it feels great, no problems or anything, just makin a slight tickin sound
Sounds like it could be your pistons making the noise. Does the noise go away when the motors warm? With forged pistons your most likely going to get a louder piston noise especially when the motor is cold, but it should go away once the motor is warm or at least the noise should get quieter.
ya it quiets down but still makes the noise when it heats up, this is normal with forged pistons, i had cps and they didnt make this noise, i build my 2nd motor with wisecos and it does... hope everything is safe.. it sure rips
