Default Bogging in VTEC?

I have a SiR w/ a B16a, when I hit vtec it surges and the tach needle jumps around, I can feel it lose power but low rpm's are fine. Any ideas? I have checked the plugs, air and fuel filtes grounds and vacum lines. thanks in advance!

Try checking your fuel pump. It may be going out.

The reason i asked what type of exuast you have is because i had a dc cat back. but i kept getting pulled over so i changed it to some crappy stock type muffler and i bogged in vtec bad. Right when vtec came on it bogged all the way to 8grand.
