Default What is th ideal vaccuum on this car??? gauge reading......

ok on a jrsc gsr at normal operation temp the car idling the vaccuum is at like -18 is that right shouldnt it be at least -20. when driving the car in a gear and let off the gas it goes to -20. i checked for a leak didnt find one. so what do you think???

is the car driving fine? -18inHg doesn't sound like much for idle, but if the car is running fine then you shouldn't be worried about it. -18inHg is enough to supply the brake booster, so don't fret. i know in my S13 240SR i get -20 at idle, -26 off the throttle at 3000rpm. then again, the SR has less duration than most hondas, so that should explain the difference. i thought mine should be a little lower, too, but mine isn't running right, so i think i'm rightful to suspect this.

doesn't have to be. if you're not having any troubles with a/f ratio or problems running then you're getting enough vacuum.
