Car bogging/lagging..Help please...
Well...I started up my car this morning and it seemed to idle fine. I drove it around the block a few times just to enjoy the ride. For some reason, when I started off, the car hessitated. It's like it just went dead...but when I stepped on the pedal deeper, a second later, all the power kicked in. It's like that with every gear....So I decide to mash it, and it GOES! like everything is normal, but when I drive normal again, the lagging and bogging is still there. I'm not sure what could be wrong. When I come to a stop sign, the RPM's drop significantly all the way down to 400 or so. I'll have to give the gas a blip for it to come back up and it doesn't always stay up. Anyhow, I went home and left the car on in the driveway. I noticed something odd.
The RPM's usually idle at 900-1000. I know that's high but so far, I'm okay with it. but then after leaving the car on for about 20 sec or so, it'll drop all the way down to 400-500 range and 10 seconds later, it'll go back up again. So it kinda rises and falls....up and down..up and down..
Maybe it's my fuel pump? I'm not sure but my pump is old and it's been louder lately...Could it be bogging and lagging cause theres not enough fuel going into the motor? Please help...
-Thank You.

Damn, going through the EXACT same thing. There's a thread a few down that advises to clean your Missing Link-if your running one. I'm going to try that tonight.

What's your setup?
It's probably not the fuel pump cause your running good at higher throttle, right?

Well..It's an SR20DET.... I know this ain't no Nissan Forum, but Honda-Tech has been my home for ages...
Anyways, yeah. It's running strong at higher RPM's as if the engine was doing its max. But when I'm driving normal, its sluggish..Feels like the power kicks in AFTER I step on the gas harder...so its kind of like...
GOING....step on it harder...LAG....2 seconds later GOING GOING GOING GOING..
I know that's a gay diagram..but that's how it feels like. Kinda feels like not enough fuel is going to the engine unless I'm at WOT.

i know nothing bout turbo... but i do know n/a engine. it sounds like u need to gas it in order to run right. so its either fuel, or spark like u said. i would check on both of those sources of power tomorrow. check ur fuel filter, spark plugs, wires. good luck... i feel you though...i hate when **** goes wrong.

also check your o2 sensor, my car would jump off the line then bogg then pick up a little bit of power (nothing near what it was before), but basically bogg all the way to redline..replaced my o2sensor and fixed the problem, chack your plugs also, could be that they are bad.....

Changed spark plugs..NOTHING...My A/F gauge jumps back and fourth at idle so it shows that it' at least working...Still lags/bogs though. It's either one of two things...The throttle position sensor is bad, or one of the coils are fucked. (direct ignition) so I still have to figure out which, tomorrow. I hate problems..Thanks for the help everyone.

This actually happened to me last night. My car idles at 650-700, but it was dropping to 500ish when i let off that gas about to stall then going back up to normal idle. i'm thinking either plugs or O2 sensor. i had to relocate and extend my o2 sensor, so I am going to go back and resolder ALL my connectors, and change my plugs. Did you gap your plugs correctly?
