Default Polishing Crank

I have a spare z6 that i am rebuilding, but the previous owner had spun a bearing. Is it ok to polish the crank or not? I have heard that the honda cranks have some special nitrate (or something) coating on them, and if i polished out the scars, it would most likely just **** up again...

you can have it polished, but make sure to have it hardened, the hardening only goes down so far, and the polishing takes a little material out. The hard part is going to be finding the right bearings, but if you can mic the different journals it'll be ok, just get bearings with the right id / od. I think honda ones are actually different colors?
