I just replaced my blown D15 with a lower mileage one and I hooked up everything that I can think of but my engine doesnt even start. The fan isnt powering on and the starter isnt even clicking. College starts today and I still dont have a car. I need help. No fuses are blown. Anyone know what the problem is? I dont want to leave the honda scene but if my car doesnt work then i might have to buy something else and sell my rex.
there are many things to check, like make sure the new motor's timing belt isnt broken and in order, then spin the crank with a ratchet to insure the motor isnt locked up...
THEN:
check for fuel
then check for spark
you have to narrow it down
go check those things and reply back

Well first we need to know a little more about the situation. Is your battery fine? If its fine then the next thing to do would be to check the grounds. Make sure they are all gounded correctly and free of corrosion/rust etc.
Make sure your grounds are like this:
Battery to chassis
tranny to chassis
valve cover to chassis
and there should be one on the t-stat
If all of this is right then start checking for things like fuel and spark. Do all of this and report back. Good luck

My battery is fine. I have a brand new optima yellowtop. I will check all the grounds tonight. i just dont know what would stop the fan from turning on because the only thing that was connected to it was the plug, unless there is someone who could tell me differently. The motor isnt locked up. I have spun the crank. Post more suggestions and i will try to look for grounds tonight.
