can anyone tell me what this ground is used for ? I cant figure it out

 

wheres the wire lead to?

 

if it would lead somewhere do you think I would be asking ??

i wouldnt worry about it...all grounds are put there for a reason....if you remove it just put it back

 

the ground doesnt go anywhere!
the other end that is not connected to the chassis doesnt go to anything like the stereo or something
thats what im trying to find out
where does the other end of this ground should plug in

yeah, I wanna plug everything back properly

 

I just recently had a problem when I left mine unplugged and it didnt allow my tail lights to be on. A better description would be that my tail lights worked but they wouldnt be on when I turned my lights on, only when I applied the brakes. I dunno what anyone else went through if/when they left theirs unplugged but thats my experience.

at least I now know for sure it has to do with the lights

 

is it possible this would be the ground for the stereo ?
the wire has 2 silver spots every inch or so

 

There is a possibility b/c the radio has a ground wire that might run to that.

Correct!!! I forgot to put this back when I did my black interior conversion (dash swap) and my radio didn't work. Plugged it in and it worked.

 

you dont think thats the ground for your gauge cluster?

 

This ground is for the gauge cluster. It is linked up on the underdash harness.

The headunit grounds down by the lower center part of the dash.

At least it's like that on Teg's.

It was a ground for my headunit.

 

yea, when i left mine disconnected, none of the gauge lighting worked..

 

same thing happened to mine, I would just make sure you hook it up
