Default obd0 motor in a ej1?

i just bought a obd0 b16 for a great price. now my plans were to sell the tranny and get a hydro one. but my main concern is that the motor itself is off a ef, therefore being obd0. how do i make this work with my obd1 harness?

Use your existing OBD1 harness on that engine. Should work just fine, you may need to alter a few wires (lengthen and such). Use your injectors as well. I think you might have to get a OBD1 or OBD2 alterntor though.

I have a question: you've been a member for 4 months and you have 3300+ posts. Sir, are you a *****?

Yeah just an alternator and injectors should be all you need, besides the hydro tranny, rear motor mount, and top tranny and driver side mount.

Make sure you don't get sent to the ref if you get pulled over.

You can use OBD0 and OBDI alternators. they have the same plug. OBDII have a different plu and can't be used.

Well if it is anything like my OBD2 to OBD1 swap then you will have to alter more than a few wires like everyone says. Yea, I was told that I would have to lengthen my 02 sensor harness and get an obd2 to obd1 conversion harness and I would be all set.

I had to splice every connector off of the OBD1 harness onto the OBD2 harness. Yea, not fun.

Best of luck.

Ah, I see, that is a lot easier.

Yeah I have pretty much the same swap actually all I did is change the distributer and wired the OBD0 injectors into the OBD1 harness and it runs fine besides the fact that my motor pulses when I try launching but I think that may be caused by the TPS sensor but not sure if anyone can help with that that would be awsome
