I'm currently installing my new steering wheel. I removed my airbag and got my OEM wheel off. Now, there is a cable reel begind the wheel that reads 'SRS TOP" and has an error on it.

Now, I disconnected that but it's still attached via this cable reel that connects under the steering colum. Will that remove the cable? Will cutting it do anything major? Please help!

 

long skinny flathead screwdriver. that was the hardest part for me but after playing with it for a few minutes i got it. DO NOT CUT IT...its not worth it, its easy to get off

 

Cutting it just junks the srs cable reel unit, no really bad adverse affects. Just trace the cable and disconnect it where it's plugged in.

 

I got it out guys.. And yes the long skinny flathead screwdriver is the way to do it.

My new wheel looks great!
