Need advice on tranny problem - possibly ISB
My Si has developed a nice whine noise while I accelerate and a rattling type noise when I left off the gas at cruising speeds. If I push the clutch in all the way the rattling noise goes away but comes back as soon as I let the clutch out and it engages. I have replaced the throwout bearing and pilot bearing and this didn't help.
From more reading I have settled on the input shaft bearing being bad. Has anyone ever replaced this? I have a new one sitting in my car, I just am not sure how to go about replacing it.
Anyone else have any ideas on what it could be?

Damn, you can find a used ITR tranny for that much..
I see b16 trannies in the h-t classifieds for from anywhere to $400-$700.. look aronud man, do not pay that much for a used tranny.
let us know!
