Default just put b16 tranny on my LS

i just finished a JDM B16 tranny on my LS integra yesterday..
it has an LSD and those short gears, great for 1/4
i also just recently chipped a p30 computer with uberdata and advanced my timing to 20 degrees on the dizzy.
i also have a thermal r&d 2 1/4 inch catback, JDM 4-1 header w/ 2.5 inch collector, AEM cold air intake, ngk wires and plugs, high flow catalytic convertor and piggybacked my rad fan wires for the fans to be running all the time.
im seeing what i should run at the track on friday.. ill be using kumho ecsta 711 tires and LS mesh wheels.. any comments.. thanks

I have heard from the B18a/b crowd that the short geared tranny swap is one of the best mods to do for quicker times. Congrats to you!!

Is this your daily driver? The reason I ask is because the LS 5th gear will allow you to keep the revs down when on the hwy, but still allow all the positive benefits from the short geared tranny when drag racing. Let us know how it goes.

Also, since you are out for performance, are you going to swap in some cams, valve springs and pistons in the future, because I would like to see the progression of your declining 1/4 mile times as you go along. Keep us posted.

the tranny feels great, the car pulls harder than it ever has and is by far the most noticeable and worthwhile mod done to the car yet..

yes, the tranny swap has been my best mod by far, thanks for the congrats
and yes, this is my daily driver.. it has light-modding done so far.. although i do plan on keeping the B16 5th gear in to keep myself out of trouble on the highway, but when i do decide to go find a race or two i can hold my own
lastly, i am planning on completing an LS/VTEC sometime in the future as soon as i have enough money in hand.. it will be complete with a built bottom end, high end valvetrain components, high compression pistons, beefy rods and a B16 head with either a set of GSR or Type-R cams..
i will keep posting as both the modding and the times from the track come along..
thanks again guys... keep the input, suggestions, help, etc. coming

sorry, thought the 15.4 was with a decent launch. and i didnt know about the header. i wouldntve thought a shorter geared tranny could take atleast half a second off your time.

yeah my 60 foot was bad, the header is different now, i have a chipped computer with launch control, advanced timing to 20 degrees, there is a HUGE dip in the timing from 2600-4100rpm that was taken out when i redid the new computer, the new LSD and short geared B16 tranny.. im planning on pulling at least a second off of my 15.4... i do think its possible and i am planning on even puttin some 14 inch steelies with new tires for a better launch.. even though ive been driving around town getting used to launching with launch control @ 3600rpm with barely any tire spin
keep on with the posts, i need to hear suggestions.. people with similar setups, launch technique.. etc.. anything.. thanksss

May I suggest some Bridgestone Potenza S-03 tires. You'll find the grip to be far greater without any major loss in wet traction.

A quick search showed Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 to be best in the Maximum Performance Summer tire category. Link

They didn't include wet traction in their survey, though, so the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 may be a decent wet traction summer tire. Ultra High Performance All-Season survey

awesome, thanks for all the info with the tire choice, etc..
im still looking for someone with a similar setup to see how they performed at the track..
ill list my motorwork as detailed as i can:
-Thermal Research and Development 2 1/4" catback exhaust.
-AEM cold air intake w/ bypass valve.
-NGK spark plug wires.
-NGK spark plugs.
-JDM 4-1 header.
-Uberdata chipped P30 ECU ((Launch Control, set to 3600rpm), there was a large dip in the stock timing from 2600-4100rpm that i smoothed out, also advancing timing +2 degrees from stock ecu.)
-timing advanced to 20 degrees.
-Quaife Limited Slip Differential.
-JDM B16 Transmission.
-15" acura "mesh" wheels with Kumho Ecsta 711 tires.
-Ground Control Coilovers lowered 2 inches all around.
-running 93 octane on street, at track will most likely use 110 octane...

input thanks guys

i got my B16 tranny from a friend of mine.. took it off his LS/VTEC turbo setup in exchange for my LS tranny.. i wanted the much shorter gears where as he wanted the taller gearing for his turbo setup.. i dont know of any places really.. ask around on honda-tech.. start a thread of wtb gsr tranny.. or else maybe try a place called HMOtors.com... its mostly motors but they may be able to part off a tranny from a motor..

oh and by the way... i see you have a 95 rs.. you wont see any difference between the gsr tranny and the ls tranny as far as gearing.. they are almost identical ratios.. gsr is a little shorter i believe but not enough to feel a difference..

I ran a b18b with ys1 gsr(ls 5th) in a 89 hatch. It had stock intake 2.5 header & 2.25 exhaust. Only other mod was 8# flywheel. it was good for 2.20 60ft's and 14.7's all day, full interior and ac. powerband was awesome but i went through the traps at 95 mph at the top of 4th gear. this is hatch but i think if you do this you need cams and more rpm.
