Default Newbie here, needs help with older accord

Hi all and thanks for the great site! My question is, I own a 92 honda accord 4cyl...lately it seems when car sits overnight or for that kind of time periode, it has to crank quite a bit until it starts...have just changed plugs, cap rotor and to no avail. could this be fuel related at all? Where might I look next? The car has 221,000 miles but otherwise runs perfect. thanks!!

check fuel pressure. If the pressure is dropping down to nothing, the car will take longer to start. may be fuel pump or regulator or leaky injectors

When my 92 did that it turned out to be the fuel pump.

Sounds more like the fuel regulator check valve has started to leak/allow pressure to drop when the car is not running. Being that they are a lot less expensive than the pump I'd start with replacing that first. Even if it doesn't fix the problem you aren't out of an *** load of money.

The pump will pressurize the system by running for maybe 2 seconds. If your problems are actually caused by fuel pressure leaking down, this should make a big difference.

If this doesn't make any difference, look for something else to be the cause.
