what would make boost drop then hit full boost then drop then hit full boost but only sometimes?
my turbo surges sometimes when full throttle it will go to 9psi, then drop to like 6psi, then back and forth and back and forth. then other times it will go to 9psi and hold it pretty steady.
someone told me it could be the bearings inside the turbo starting to go and it is making the wheel shift a little bit and hit the side of the compressor housing when it gets a load on it and that makes it do it. what do you think it could be?

Do you have an internal or external wastegate? What is it set to? Sounds like you probably just have a small boost leak.
Just curious, dose this happen day or night? cause if its happening during the day and its hot out then maybe your couplers are expanding and leaking out boost

it would have to be pre-turbo for it to matter, check the head flange and the wg and where the turbo mounts to the manifold and then check all of your intercooler piping

well the strange thing is it only happens sometimes but its a greddy 18g with a greddy profec b spec 2 boost controller.
would a coupler leak boost only sometimes and cause this to happen? and would an exhaust leak cause this?
i would understand more if it did it all the time but it will do it one time when i get on it then i'll get on it a few seconds later and it wont do it again. then it might do it again later its wierd.
someone please help me with this, i dont want to get a new turbo if i dont need to

well greddy 18g's suck at holding boost, theve been know to creep then settle back down. and the profec b spec2's are **** as well. the solenoids are horrible
so basically you're telling me my whole ssetup sucks.
i dont think that is the case. however i would like some technical input from anyone who might have had any personal experience with anything like this happening.
