who here has a 12.9 second b16? when you ran did you reach fifth gear? just wondering. i need to know some trap speeds

 

12.52 @ 110 on 22" slicks and 13.2 @ 111 on 195/60/14 street tires, I hit about 7800 rpm crossing the line each time in 4th.

 

ok thanks, so at redline (8200rpm) on the b16 in 4th gear is about 180kph? i should know but i forget and my tranny is off right now otherwise i would go check

 

im running standard size diameter tires and i hit 4th before the end...or i pull 3rd out past 9k

It's something like that, ya. If it worries you about hitting the limiter just set it to like 9k

 

Last yes I was trapping 106.6 mph and I would cross the line at ~7800rpm in 4th gear. So if the car traps more then that I would guess yes you will need fifth gear.

 

On 22" slicks, you won't have to shift into 5th until you trap around 119. That's shifting at 8800
