Default PLX m300 install.... open downpipe sensor placement?

can i place the wideband sensor at the end of the open down pipe? or is this a bad place because the open air is so close.. with exhaust gasses being expelled constantly the open air near it should really matter should it??

yeah, 24 inches or something, because the sensor cant be more than 850* celcius... anyone know if there is enough flow from the exhuast at idle and everything so outside air ISNT contaminating the O2 reading?

nope it'll contaminate at idle and even WOT if it's close. I have it 8inches or so ad I still get a little contamination at idle. It doesn't take much at all to contaminate.

the reading will be leaner, but I know it was leaner because of the open DP because once i put the full exhaust on it went away.
