My D16Z6 Turbo Project
Alright guys, I'm about to head off to my friend's house to start my turbo install.
My setup is going to be as follows:
-D16Z6- Stock internals for now (2nd block for buildup & eventually a bigger setup w/ more boost)
-TD04 16G turbo w/ internal wastegate. (Fixing it to a T3 flange to work w/ my manifold)
-T3 flanged mild-steel manifold
-DSM Mitsubishi BOV
-6" Johnny Race Car FMIC
-Bunch of 2.5" straight and random bends for charge piping.
-Random Downpipe that was used on the turbo, but will have to be altered for the new manifold
-310cc P/H injectors
-255lph inline fuel pump
-PLX M-300 wideband
-Uber/Crome tuned
I am exhausted and haven't even started putting the damned thing together yet. I've been mentally going over the entire setup and install for the last week getting prepared for today.
I will have pics of the install as soon as I can. My friend Chris is going to be coming over this evening with his digital camera and Hopefully about 40 2 liters of Dew to keep us going.
Couldn't find a non-corrupted looking basemap for me to do my initial tuning off of, so it looks like I'm going to have to spend a little more time making my own map and then tuning off of that.
My AFR goal is around 13.0, but I'm going to try to get my initial tune to go between 12.2 and 13.7 to get it streetable w/out blowing up the motor.
Wish me luck guys.
Nick
edit: If this should be moved to appearance/cosmetic will a mod please move this?

You deffinately want that af lower....especially while starting from scratch. more in the 11.5 to 12.0 range while under boost. Make sure the timing is in the 12-16 degree range and work up from there.

Thanks, that's one of the things that's going to chage then. I have no idea what to really put in the cells for the Low/High fuel maps. I suppose more than what is in the NA cells.
Today we got the FMIC installed and pretty much done with the intercooler piping. I have the injectors wired, but I don't know if they're wired correctly. Need to pick up a set of dremel sanding bits to widden out the old injector O-Rings.
