Default heater control cable

anyone here know why my heater control cable keeps slipping out of the little plastic holder on the heater control on my 92 civic hatch?

I carefully removed the heater control to fix a burnt out bulb and ever so carefully removed the stupid air mix cable. Upon reinstallation the cable doesn't stay in place. I did not break the stopper tabs and I even sorta crimped them back together with pliers before reinstallation.

Any tips as to how I am to fix this problem?

Thanks

Sounds to me like you bent the holder tabs slightly so its not holding it tight anymore or the cable itself is just worn and wont fit properly anymore. You can try removing the cable and bending them back carefully or using a zip tie or a piece of wire and use that to hold it down to the holder as well. I ended up doing that on my door hardware in the Sol.

i just used 12 minute epoxy and glued the bastard in place. Hopefully it will never come out. In the event that I need to change a bulb again I will simply remove the heater control cable from the air mix door and pull it out that way.

Either that or I can simply replace the heater control with a new one later on.
