Default PVC PIPING...hmm

here's what i read...

***pvc is fine for intake, just not charge pipes. they will work as charge pipes, but you'd want to get ABS(similar to pvc, just a higher temp tolerance)
pvc is nasty when melted on you exhaust manifold, but if its purely fot a CAI, youll be fine. just dont open your hood.***

what if you cover the pvc w/ heat repelling tape or dryer hose? you know to keep the heat down...? this interests me cause i have a friend that races rally for Mazda and for all there piping they use high tollerence plastics for there turbo setups cause plastics dont consume heat like aluminum or steel... so i figure that pvc on a turbo setup AFTER THE INTERCOOLER should be ok as long as its done right...anyone disagree? -swift

if your running a decent intercooler and its going to drop the temperature enough then yes it will be fine. look up the actual heat tolerance of some available ABS and go from there. you'll likely be ok unless your intercooler isn't doing its job

OMG, I thought I was the only person who's ever had home depot IC piping. I ran mine underneath my stock rubber intake hose and cut a hole in my stock air box for the "clean" look, and also so that nobody would ever know my deep, dark, embarassing secret.
