Default Rear View Mirrors

I thought this might be a good topic...

You constantly have to watch your mirrors on track, in the past I have had a large blind spot problem due in combination to helmet, seat, and that 6 point that reduces your movement (for obvious reasons), the worst time being when exiting the pit on to the track.

I was contemplating getting one of those "LANE CHANGER 6000"(patented, ) mirrors that I commonly see in prepped cars, only most of the mirrors I've seen are too convex and the image seems far away and makes me feel disconnected and leaves my depth perception off.

Just wanted to see what mirror you run, like, or dislike...

Thanks guys, I did a search a few days back and didn't find anything recent I kinda wanted to see if there were some mirrors that came out within the past couple of years. But I did skip over 2 posts unknowingly that you pointed out to me, thanks

Anybody feeling that they would like to add something please do...

Thanks

Peter Puffer? Hello?

You won't need a mirror, everyone will be in front!

I would look at how you have to mount it and make that a part of my decision. If the only thing holding a several pound mirror/set of mirrors at the end of the day is plastic, I think it makes it a projectile in a hard impact. I was planning to try secure my next one w/ safety wire but instead found the one below and like it so far. And I really never practically could figure out how to safety wire it up anyway.

Is that an optical illusion, or does your cages A pillar not continue straight up?

Ok there Pumpkin head , no bump drafts for you then. I may be slow, but you can find your momentum elsewhere... try looking for it in the crack of your ***.

And you better make it out to the house this weekend, my car will be on the road sunday morning.

Catch 22's car has a wink attached to the upper windshield crossbar, and two very convex circular mirrors attached to the cage (I think...) where the a-pillar becomes the dashboard, if that makes any sense. Properly adjusted, I can see everything, including cars that have a fender inside me.

Must be an optical illusion, the A-pillar tube goes from the floor plate to to the main hoop as one tube. Follow the line of the front hoop tube (the one the mirror is attached to) along that gusset (look for the seam where the gusset is welded to the front hoop) and it terminates into the A-pillar bar. I think you are confusing the gusset for the A-pillar??

Karl, I am not suggesting the winks are not effective for seeing around/behind you, just pay attention to how well they are secured to the car - in most cases (should say, all cases I have seen), its metal clamps bolted to very thin plastic (and that thing will boogie in an impact hard enough).

I did the same thing with my wink 5 panel.. I just need to add the circular mirrors still, as even the 5 panel still leaves some "invisible" spots..

now if I could just figure out how to get it to stop vibrating all the time.. hehe..
