How do I remove B-series VTEC rocker arm rod?
My problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to get that long rod that holds all the rocker arms in place. The helms manual says to screw in a 12mm bolt? Does that mean i have to get a long bolt, screw it in, then pull it out?
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
its an allan key to remove the cap to get to the rod that holds the rockera
then theres a pin that slides in the end of the rod to hold it in....i usually just pull it out with needle nose pliers

There are three large allen head plugs on the end of the cylinder head. Two on the timing belt side and one on the distributor side. The VTEC solenoid covers the fourth hole. There are also oil jets that hold the shafts in, they are under tha cam caps on the timing belt side of the motor. Be careful not to lose the pins that are in each of the rocker arms, they can fall out pretty easily.
if im not mistake i think it is a 3/8" hex drive, or allen head whatever you wanna call it..
after you remove the two on the timing belt side, remove the oil orfice's in the head on the timing belt side under the cam caps, then to remove the rod, use some sort of 12mm bolt, i think i used my old ac tensioner bolt but im not sure..
screw that in there, it wont really thread in there but it will like, get binded up, then you can pull on the bolt and the shaft will come out. make sure to keep your rocker arms together and pins not missing!

i usually thread the oil oriface with a screw and pull them out.
also once u get the hex/allen head screws out and the oriface, u can stick a screw driver inside the hole to push the rod out. once the rod comes out, the rockers will just fall. keep em together when u remove the rod
why r u taking them out? if u r installing springs and retainers, u can install them with the rockers in the head
