HELP ASAP! Cant remove stud! Calling all non vtec d-series guru's
Okay i was stupid and over tightened a valve cover nut and snapped the stud. Its not a probelm gettting the bolt loose...the problem is i cant get the bolt OUT. I loosend(sp?) the bolt and it moves up and down freely but it wont slide/pull out of the hole in the cam bearing cap. I am lost for ideas how to get it out, is there any type of retaining washer, dowel, or spring holding it in from being pulled out. I dont have to remove the whole rocker arm assembly i hope. Oh yea this is on a D15B7 motor, its the stud by the oil cap. Please help me this is the only thing stopping me from completing my project. THANKS!

So its completely loose? Maybe loosen it some more with a bit of pressure upward (like taking it out). Take a look at a new stud and reverse engineer it.

You have to loosen all bolts for the rocker arm assembly according to the sequence listed in a helms or chilton's manual. Otherwise, you may warp part of the rocker arm assembly. The same can be said about tightening them. Make sure you have a torque wrench. Good luck.
