I installed my GC's over KYB AGX's. I know the instructions say to grind down a bit of the front spring perch in order for the GC sleeves to fit evenly and I did that no problem. I was adjusting the height of my car a week after I installed them and I noticed my sleeves were deformed near the bottom. They were stretched outward around the spring perch and there are stress marks on the sleeve as well.

Do anyone else's GC Sleeves look like this? Over KYB AGX's?
Should I be concerned???

 

my sleeves never did that mounted on my tokico's. i dont remember any "grinding down" instructions either. but i can see why that happened on yours. the way i see it, i wouldnt be worried until there were any vertical cracks. then id just send it in to ground control under warranty.

I dont have GC myself but isnt that the sleeve that suppost to be install in the rear?

ive seen this happen on another sleeve. not sure what brand it was though. i would definitely contact ground control since youve only had them for a week. they still look brand new

 

that sleeve looks like it is for a koni yellow.. which uses a diff perch on the shock body that locks that sleeve from touching the bottom mounting point for the shock.. thats just my guess, someone correct me if i am worng..

 

Sleeve looks more like it's for the rears. The front sleeves don't have that extra space at the bottom with no threads.

 

Thanks guys. I checked with Ground Control and yes I did install the rear sleeves on the front shocks ......damn. I installed whatever sleeves were with the front springs when they came. I guess they were mixed around when packaged. Hopefully they'll last until I can get some new rear sleeves and swap'em.
