Default 02 Vic questions/help!

okay so here I am again asking for help b/c I know squat about my car. I have an AEM V2 and want to put a Megan Racing header with it, and an Apexi N1 cat-back. NOw I need some opinions on that combo, besides the fact that I know it will not give me much nor can I get much out of my engine. But the fact remains that I am with this car for a while so. Next advice I need is on Suspension? I wanna go wtih Tokico Shocks and Neuspeed Sport Springs! What do u guys think about that combo? What is the best camber kit and do I need a front and back? also what kind of upper and lower strut bars are the best? Thanx to anyone taht can give an honest opinion or answer. hope to hear from u guys! 2002 Honda Civic EX Coupe Anyone from the WNC area going to charlotte to meet the superstreet ride to atlanta for nopi? if so let me know....

im a long time member off 7gc.cm

neuspeed sports + tokico blues = great combo. it'd be stiffer than OEM ride but you'll notice the better "performance" out of it.

camber kit: you only need rear. im an 03 and no camber upfront with a 2" drop... perfectly fine. just make sure to get an alignment. but there are ppl who dont neccesary need a camber kit at all cause ive heard of ppl who are dropped 1" that arent getting camber wear on the 01+ civic.

aem v2 + megan header + apexi n1 = gonna rob your low end power but it'll come back in the high end. thats a measly 3-7hp gain.

front upper strut bar = neuspeed hands down... 1pc design, quality, affordable. DC sports is great as well but its a 2pc design and more flashy. neuspeed > DC strut

speaking of suspension, i also recommend a rear sway bar. preferably the rsx OEM rear sway (19mm) which is a very cheap and useful upgrade for the es1/em2 (01+ civic).

civic ex uses a 14mm rear sway bar i believe? noneless, still a great cheap upgrade.

http://www.7thgencivic.com check that site out, best info on the 01+ civic on the net

Thanx Jtteg for the imput, thats the kind of imput I needed to hear. I have tried to sign up on 7gen civic but the damn admin won't approve my account so all I can do is look. Any ideas on how to not rob me of lowend power with the i/h/e? The megan is the best from what I hear, but do I have to lose the cat? any advice on what header to buy? Really trying to get car together before nopi so I can meet the tour in Greenville and ride to ATL. thanx for all the help guys

the megan racing header is NOT the best header for the 01+ civic. it varys such as 'best' performance, quality, price, etc.
if you want best gains, look into a full race header (which eliminates the cat converter and is illegal in most states). HP and DC sports makes a full race header for the civic ex. its a 2 pc design and replaces your factory cat. converter with just a straight pipe to your exhaust catback. you can find the hp full race header at http://www.truehonda.com http://www.dezod.com and other vendors that support honda cars.

you dont have to lose the cat, if your gonna drive this car on the street and want to keep it legal, its a tough decision to sacrafice. but ive heard of fines of up to $1000 in CA for no cat converter.

and as for the low end, its gonna be very difficult to keep your low end in tact while hooking up bolt ons. the only intake ive heard of that doesnt rob your low end is the K&N FIRK II and Tyhpoon i believe. my information comes from 7thgencivic.com member "gearbox" as he owned both of these intakes and gave a review of them.
i doubt a header would rob low end, its pretty much giving pipes a bigger placement to flow thru. but dont quote me on that.

exhaust... your gonna lose low end on that as well. but it makes up for it at the high end. assuming your gonna be looking at aftermarket exhausts such as apexi, greddy, dc, etc. i never heard of an catback exhaust that gives gains thruout the entire powerband...(yet)

i have an 01+ civic as well, after a short ram intake, going catless, and exhaust... low end was gone but high end was somewhat ok. man i hate having to redline just to merge on the highway with bolt ons lol

honestly bro, there is nooooo non F/I bolt on that is going to do anything for your car (7thgen). I owned mine for 2.5 years and went through 3 catbacks, 4 intakes, 3 headers and every other knick knack that i could duct tape to that bish. It outperformed stock, but not by much and that's not saying much either....So save your $70 that you were going to buy that megan header with and get a turbo kit or a swap...

what two_cam said,

all ur gunna do is be loud and annoying while still slow, so ppl are lways gunna be ****** with you on the road. save the money on ur bolt ons, do the suspension, then turbo, if not a swap. 7thgencivic forums have much info on both options. keep the suspension stuff tho, and maybe invest into rims. if u just NEED to get some more vroom, ebay for a wet shot of spray, and do some research into hooking it up and coverting to fuel return system (or something like that)

thanks man, i wont be getting any of this because when i race i shift mad quick and only use the 2000-4000 rpm range. i wont rev past 4000 rpms. i prefer to use the lower RPM's when i race. what parts can i get to boost my 1000-4000 rpm power?

which is illegal in ALL states. as this is a federal EPA regulation.

build the suspension first - then look to upgrade; preferably w/o bolt ons.
