So are you planning on boost or N/A? You do not sound so sure right now.

wanting top end power on boost with an LS you'll want to free up the flow as much as possible. pnp job, valve job, afermarket intake manifold, larger tb, cams. you'll need all of these things to be successful.

and from my experience...if want top end power on boost on an LS, i would recommend crower 403~404. i ran 404 in my last setup and topend was a fucken blast. from my experience with 402T, they have sloppy low and top end but very strong mid range power. 403 and 404 will take a bit of fine tunning though to make it run right.

I could see 403's maybe b/c I used to spray on 403's( ), 404's though I would think have too much overlap unless you adjusted them with cam gears. I still think 404's would be too much cam though.(but I could be wrong)

you will want rod bolts at the least, but i would recommend all forged internals. valve springs and retainers would be nice too, while you're at the head work.

I would go forged internal on anything forced induction, but that is me. You can get away with forged pistons, ARP Rod Bolts(P/N 208-6001 $35), and shotpeened stock rods.

As for valvesprings, if you go 402T's you do not need them, but if you go 403 or 404, you better get them. Crower cams generally go for $350 a set and you can get the valvesprings for $185. Leave the retainers stock unless youare going over 8K.

High-temp coating the Pistons, valves, and combustion chamber wouldn't be a bad idea either, considering the higher temperatures adn the extra stress FI is going to put on the motor.
