I believe (please verify elsewhere) that you disconnect the return hose to the pumps reservior, put the tube in a can or something else to catch the fluid, and start the car, and use the pump itself to push all the fluid out. When the return hose stops releasing fluid, turn the car off, and you're good to go. I wouldn't run it very long after its pumped the fluid out.

Are you doing this to remove the pump entirely, or just flushing the fluid?

That guy must of been an idiot!!! At lease use regualr PSF for PS. Why the hell would you even put tranny fluid in the PS???

Yes disconnecting the return hose will work fine. You can access it easier from under the car. Just turn the wheel SLOW as it comes out with pretty good force.

im not sure if this was right or not, i dosconnected the hose on the power steering pump, it went from the resevior to the pump itself you can see them attach by just looking down on it, i turned the wheel w/ the car turned on, and a lot came out and then it stopped coming out, just not all of it, did i do the right thing here?

no, hook that hose back up, go under the car and you will see two hoses right next to each other going into the rack, they are on the driver side. One is a high preasure line, it is the larger allmost solid line. You want to disconnect the other line. When this is disconnected the pump will push fluid into the rack, but with the return house off it will push the fluid out instead of back to the pump.

I did that and got all the fluid out and put the right stiff in, and its still making that whining noise when i turn, but i havent driven it yet its still in the garage, do i need to let the fluid circulate through fully and drive a couple mikles, or is my pump prolly shot?
