im lookin to swap in a gsr into my 95ex. should i go with the gsr tranny or wil a b16 tranny bolt up to it? does anyone no where i can find a gsr motor other than junkyards? and is there anyone in MD who would help me with the swap?

 

i have a gsr swap with the gsr tranny. it pulls good but the b16si tranny has shorter gearign so it would accelerate faster. any bseries tranny will work with any bseries block.

 

you dont want a jdm?, i wouldnt have a clue if they sold US ones online

b16a tranny is a good choice, but i believe it has a lower top end...how much lower though, i dont know. But yea, it should bolt right up

 

i have a b16 swap in my car and i had a s80 tranny and ran a 14.1 all motor then after i finally got my hands on a s4c tranny i ran a 13.65. if you can get a b16 tranny i would definitly use it cuz thats what i run o n all my cars.

 

thanks for all your input everyone. about goin jdm, i will if i can come across one thats not to terribly out of my price range. and i no being tight with money isnt exactly the way to go into a swap situation, but im also not lookin to spend piles and piles of money you no? thanks again every1.

 

yeah the b series trannys are interchangable and the b16 has shorter gears for better acceleration but also poor highway driving.... about 4500 at 70 mph but its up to you.... call japan direct to get jdm gsr and b16 tranny.... 1-888-518-7341. good luck

 

what makes a jdm motor the way to go over a usdm? the numbers they produce or am i wrong?

they say it's because the way the motors are built for the japanese consumers...apparently, they have a higher quality of gas over there, so the engines are tuned to be able to take advantage of that...pretty much every jdm vs usdm motor that i've seen, the jdm one has a higher compression ratio

 

No one has said the ITR tranny, I believe that has shorter grears than the gsr tranny. Make sure you get one with a lsd
