gsr short shifter in crx
Since you provided no details, I'm going to assume you're talking about a '94-01 Integra shifter. No, it will not work with linkage made to fit a CRX shifter unless you modify either the shift linkage or the shifter. The '94-01 Integra shifter is wider at the bottom where it bolts to the linkage.
its a crx with a b16 with a y1 tranny so im assuming the linkage is b16 shift linkage. i just want a shirt shifter that has that gsr "lay back" bend. it puts it closer to the driver. are there any b16 shifters that have that bend? thats all im looking for
the diy option is cut the housing that holds the bearings/washers to fit that of the b16 shifter. this can be done with anything from a dremel tool to a metal hand saw.
in this pic you can see the housing (ghey apc shifter just for reference)

Ive had a GSR shifter in my crx for over 3 years with no problems. I cant remember if i had to modify anything to get it in there...its been a long time since i did it. Im running Hasport linkage btw. You wont really notice any difference in the throw....and the bend doesnt move the shift **** very much either. The shifts did feel more crisp....but i think that had to do with the urethane bushings i installed while i had it apart. If i had to do it again...i wouldnt...id save and buy something better
ive got the shifter that came with the linkage. i dont care if its a gsr shifter or whatever. jsut want the thing positioned farther back and a shorter more solid throw. tired of sloppy *** front wheel drive shifters. i think ill end up going with the dual bend skunk2. its not the gsr thing im looking for its the the dual bend im after
the slop comes from the bracket that holds the bushing/shifter. the trick is too throw regular washers underneath and lock-washers up top, i also added a little bit of axle grease in the little "pocket" before i slid the shifter in. a oem gsr shifter wont fit in the hasport shift linkage unless you pry the bracket wider. this causes slop in the system and leads to swivel head failure. the best thing to do is run a gsr that has been cut down <--- i did this sat. morning after installing a new HAS shift rod (also threw in the washers). the shifter feels AMAZING now...soooo smooth and direct. i HIGHLY recommend tightening down that bracket and adding washers.
