GSR? I would find a nice B16 head, and a B16 Tranny and have it running nice....
or just save 3 grand and boost it and be happy
good luck, have you ran it yet? I am just curious how it did....let me know

if the guys asking what to do next.. do u really think gettin into boost is a good idea?.. i said the gsr head, cause it will raise the compression, moreso than a b16.. of course if he's gonna keep it all motor...

How are you so sure? I wasnt hating on you or anything im just saying what i would do, a b16 has lower compression and with boost its just a better overall idea if hes not boosting then hell yeah do the GSR head...i was just saying...

chill bro i said "if" he's goin all motor, i agree w/ u on the b16 head if goin f/i.. i assumed for someone who "just" got an ls motor and is asking what to do next.. that he's prob not lookin for "too" much more, at least not yet...
u gotta crawl before u walk...

search and not ask stupid questions like this.
1. ls/vtec (b16 head flows better than a gsr)
2. boost the **** out of it (ls is a very strong motor to turbo)
if you wanted to up the compression ratio i would suggest the b16 head with a thinner headgasket just because the b16 is a better flowing head and most definatly combine with the b16 tranny and the thing will rip.

personally i wouldnt mess w/ the honda headgasket and go w/ a thinner one.. and i would bypass the better flowing b16 head for the extra compression the gsr head would give, especially since this head would be added to a non-rpm living ls bottom end, but i agree the trans would be a good idea.. i've got one.. almost perfect since im switching from all motor to f/i i want an ls trans instead

Since when would a longer geared tranny perform better than a short geared one whether it be na or fi?

since the motor does havent to live in the top 1/4 of the rpm range cuz its aided by boost

LS tranny = long gears = slow acceleration
B16 tranny = super short gears = quick acceleration
Even if the motor didn't have to live at the top of the power band, which tranny would get you to the target rpm faster? The shorter geared tranny no doubt whether it be forced induction or natural aspiration.

if u want all motor go with a new head-trani but if u want alot of power save up a grand and boost that bitch thats what im doing homemadeturbo.com is your friend so far this is a total of my kit
mani 60
rhb5 turbo 50
intercooler 130(cca front mount
)
injectors with box 75
bov 40
fuel pump 100
a few mor things and im rollin....... all motor is cool but boost is cheaper and faster

i already have an ls complete swap, so i figure it would be a waste to get the gsr now. i was thinkin all motor. just for everyday drive and also have the power to be there for the hell of it. wat u guys think
LS's can be built to be quick. they have a nice power band and make decnt power that would be fun for daily driving. just throw in some crower 404's and bolt ons
Boost is goign to be your best option. Lots of folks will tell you LSVTC, but having seen folsk do both, I will tell you flat out that a turbo kit wil make you happier for roughly the same price.
