please help ignition fucked .
alright guys I got tuned recently and I have been still having prblems misfireing which leads to shitty driveability and bad idle. we think the problem is either the coil sticks (the part that goes over the spark plug and then goes to the msd) or the actual msd itself. I want to try and replace the coil sticks (or whatever they are called) first. the problem is that I cannot find the part or parts any where. its a denso part and the part number is 129700-3881 jo388. if you guys have any other ideas or any info for me that would be great. Jon
thanks for the reply buddy but yes I actually replaced the plugs and checked the gap on them. I hope that its the coil sticks so I dont have to rewire the msd.
Try here for parts http://www.hondaautomotivepart...h.jsp

Absolutely. If there is a bad connection with the plug wires or there is a cut in one of them, the spark can jump to a close ground and not give full voltage to the plug. This will be extremely apparent on forced induction cars. Need to get the max voltage to the plug a s possible.

Come to think of it msd ignitions will burn stock honda ignition wires.Honda ignition wires are made out of a carbon fiber wire of some sort.I use o have to change my plug wires every 10k until I took off my jacobs ignition.
Take the msd off.Best wires are honda oem.Only wires that are meant to last with after market ignitions are pure copper wires. But they create EMF and screw up the sensors. So sell the msd and use stock honda oem.Or keep it and plan on replacing plug wires alot.
so you are that positive that its the wires?? I really hope that it is. do you know of anysites that sell some good ones at a good price? what would be the difference in normal spark plugs wires and the ones tha tI have??
