I have a swapped in D16Y8 with MSD ignition. My car will turn over, but won't fire. Sprayed starting fluid in the intake and got nothing. Everything is pointing to no spark. It worked 6 hours prior to it not working. Getting spark from Blaster SS coil, but it doesn't seem to be getting spark to the plugs. Was getting spark to one plug, but then when we tried all four at the same time got no spark. I've replaced the spark plugs (NGK Platinum), Wires (APC 9.3mm), Cap/rotor (MSD external coil post. Has anyone had problems like this with the 6A MSD unit or could this be from the distributor itself? Any help would be much appreciated. I did have a VAFC-II which as part of my trouble shooting, removed and got the ECU wired back to stock. I also checked all fuses...Please Help...

 

Why not try throwing your stock cap/coil back on? If it starts, then it's a problem with the MSD, if it doesn't, then move on to distributor trouble shooting.

Honda distributors suck, usually the igniter goes bad.

 

Well the stock cap/rotor are long gone...I've had MSD for over 2 years. I am going to try my old MSD cap, but I have a sneaking sensation that it's the distibutor. Thanks for the help.

 

I'm getting spark from the coil, but it's not making it to the plugs...any ideas? I'm desperate.

 

Fixed...got rid of MSD and put stock ignition back in car...
