help with ecu
Well it depends on the application at hand. Do you plan on running an EMS? What are your goals. I say this only because you don't want to buy 2 ecu's when you could have bought the right one in the first place
Well you can get a lot of ecu's to "just run your R" More info is needed for a suggestion or before a certain someone "cough, cough" comes in you might want to use the search function and see what will work best for your application.
There are a number of options.
My first question is do you have a (correct) wiring harness that connects all the sensors etc., in the new motor and through the firewall (you probably do). Next step is to decide which year/OBD the ECU connectors you have with that wiring harness, and either get an OBD1 ECU or OBD2 depending on which harness adapter you're going to need.
Here's one site I thought of that might help.

You could probably call them with specific questions.
There are also any number of board members that make/sell wiring harness adapters.
