need help with ecu problems
so basically i picked up a 99 ek coupe with a b20b4 in it the motor is obd2a and the ecu is obd2b. i found a obd2a p2e ecu could i just use that one and it will work? and what kind of harness would i need or would it just be easier to get a jumper harness?
A P2E ecu will not work as it is a Single cam ecu. It may run the motor, but not correctly. What ECU is in the car now? you could just buy an ECU jumper from OBD2b chassis to OBD2a ecu
you could just run an LS P75 ECU, whether, and get a jumper if it's OBD2a like I stated before. OR you can go on a site like www.phearable.net/ and get an OBD1 ecu with a B20 base map, and convert your motor to OBD1

another question please help. i have everything i need becides this wiring stuff. so if my ecu is obd1 and my motor is obd2a i need to get a harness for the ecu to obd2a correct? do i need another harness for the engine to the ecu? or the distributor? just very confused on all this please help
yes i am trying to source a p75 ecu and ill wait until i get one to get it all put together just seems it would make more sense to do it that way rather then try to cut a corner. im guessing when you said obd2b you ment obd2a? and by adapter you meen jumper harness correct thank you again for your help saves me a headache ive done most the research myself i just want to make sure i get the correct ecu and wiring.
ok so i think im starting to under stand all this now the jumper harness more or less just plugs into the ecu correct? and since the original ecu is obd2b i would need a jumper harness from that to whatever obd my ecu is?
theres a wire that connects to my distributor that i think i would need to source some kind of new one not really sure so i will take pictures now and post
again thank you

again thanks for help as this is my first swap (we all have to start some where)
i think one of them is called the ivac? not to sure and im not really sure what the other one is either and some one said it might be easier if i just get a ls intake?

The distributor connector won't be plug and play. You're going to need to rewire the connectors or use an adapter harness. The black plug by the intake manifold post the wire colors because it could either be the intake air temp sensor or the EVAP purge plug. The round sensor on the intake manifold is the IAT sensor and you'll either have to swap to a round connector or use your current cars intake sensor and drill a hole in your intake arm to make it work. For any other connectors you aren't sure about post the picture and the wire colors.
i apologize again to anyone following or helping me on this thread i work monday through friday 12:00 midnight to 8:30 and its kickin my ***. but i have been doing a little more research when i got free time and would a pr4 ecu work? and i am going to for sure get these pics posted tommorow sometime or today if i still cant pass out lol
also the harness coming off the distributo has 9 pins but looks like its missing one. the one going to it has 8 i looked on rywire and they only have 10 pin to 8 pin am i missing one or do some come with 9?
