to make a long story short, i have a z6 zwapped 89 hatch. and it hasnt started yet..the problem is there is no ignitor pulse. the mechanic tells me its the ecu...but the ecu was just fine before i swapped out the engine. i know cuz i got it from my friend who swapped a gsr into his eg hatch..so my question is are there any possible reasons why there wouldnt be an ingnitor pulse...main relay? some fuses..wiring idk just need some suggestions

 

What distributor and ecu are being used? Did you use a conversion harness?

 

p28 and the z6 dizzy..ive replaced everything on that dizzy with the exception of the housing.. lol..cuz ppl thought it was the dizzy..so i went out and bought a new coil, ignitor. etc etc.

 

oh and yes i used a conv. harness

Are you throwing a code?

Next time you get to a junkyard, pull an ignitor off another SOHC Civic, any of them will work.

 

I've had a bad ignitor right from honda before. I really doubt that is your problem though. Do a search on here and there is a test for the ignitor. I've done it a few times doe to all my dizzy woes.

no the ignitor is good..when he runs the tester thing through it the light stays on the whole time...and my mechanic told me its supposed to pulse...

 

UPDATE - I tested the car and found two things - the two white wires were switched at the distributor and as well as the distributor itself was bad. I don't know what part was bad, all I know was that I couldn't get a spark of his but when I used my distributor I was able to get it to rumble to life.
