Before insurance gets involved take off all your aftermarket parts and turn it back to stock. That way if you cant buy it back then atleast you still have all the aftermarket parts.
it's totaled because of body damage. If I bought it back, I could sell the motor, interior, suspension.
****. i shouldve taken off the 5lug and my coilovers.....?
insurance is taking the car to their inspection shop. theyre going to see how bad the damage is, and find out if it's worth fixing.

They only sell those cars for a few hundred dollars to junk yards, so don't pay more than that to buy it back...but if they won't sell it to you, take all of your aftermarket stuff off first...you can even take out the motor and replace it with a busted one...I've known people that have done that before...the insurance company won't even check...

Exactly, get all your stuff out of there asap so you can sell it later on. That's why I keep all my OEM parts just incase something like this ever happened, and I prey that it doesn't.

well the car is at a towing yard.
insurance is going to have the car transported to *THEIR* inspection shop.
I can't go to the towing yard, and start taking parts off.....
I have about 3g's in parts on the car. insurance is going to pay for $1,000.
what should i do?

You can go to the junk yard...you just have to tell them you need to get your parts and they shouldn't have a problem with you getting them. The junk yard doesn't own the vehicle so as long as you show them that you own it, they have to let you do what you want to it. At least you can get some of the smaller parts off, and then try to buy the car back later. When I had a car that got wrecked, I got everything but the motor and still got the insurance money...they really don't care...
