Trouble with TDC help please
all right im having trouble setting to TDC, im using a socket wrench to turn the crankshaft, and when i do this.. the distributor rotor isnt turning? i'm confused to what i might be doing wrong.. please help

thanks, im actually changing my timing belt now and its a pain in the ***.. but shouldnt the distributor rotor turn as i turn the crankshaft?

can you see your timing belt right now? or does it still have the plastic cover? well, if you cant see your timing belt, chances are, you probably snaped it. because YES your right, the rotor should turn when you are turning the crank. so try taking that plastic cover out and try turning again. let us know what happen.

yes i see the timing belt, and when i turn the crankshaft, the timing belts turns the cam gear but the distributor rotor isnt turning.
what could be the problem?

holy crap. the only thing i can tell you is take the valve cover out and check whats up. try to take pics too so we can see whats wrong.

all right i don't think the cam is broke in half becuase i took the valve cover off and when i turn the crankshaft you can see the valves move up and down so it couldnt be that right? the distributor rotor is still staying put though. if i were to take pictures what would you guys like pictures of to help? under the valve cover and the distrubtor rotor and the whole engine bay?

pull off the distributor, have someone crank the car and look in the hole and see if the cam is moving
another thing is to take the distributor and turn the "key"(part that slides in the cam) and see if the rotor moves
