Some questions on Greddy Turbo kit for GSR

Default Some questions on Greddy Turbo kit for GSR

OK, I searched and didn't find the answers to these questions:

If the stock kit doesn't have an intercooler, then why is the intake sucking air from the engine bay? Is there a reason not to use the stock intake that reaches lower and grabs colder air? (I don't want to run an intercooler for legal reasons)

If one uses some kind of (electronic) boost controller, how soon can the turbo start making boost? I saw some dyno plots, but I don't think they had boost controllers, so I assume that the turbo spooled up a little later. Ideally, I'd like to have some boost at 2k, and most of the boost by 3k. (Don't plan to run more than the stock 7psi)

E-Manage: can this device (which people say causes the car to run rich) actually pass California emissions?

Assuming I get the ignition and injector harness, how good is the "baseline" tune, vs. getting it tuned, vs a stand-alone system. Again, I'd prefer to stay with the emanage for legal reasons.

I'm interested in hearing from people who have installed this kit on stock cars.
