Maximum rpm on stock B16 head?

Default Maximum rpm on stock B16 head?

Hallo,

can someone tell me how much rpm is safe on a stock B16A Valvetrain/Head.

short period maximum (max. 5-10sec.)
long period maximum (> 30sec)

Stock redline is safe, 8k.

well i really wouldnt consider it safe forsay... but my friend has a gen 1 b16 with obd1 conversion type r cams and the skunk ecu and he takes it to 8500 all the time and still the stock valvetrain is good

Or you can find ITR outer valve springs and get some Portflow inners($80) and youll be safe up to about 9K, this is only worthy if you cams make power up that high but can also help in an overrev situation..

We take my buddies boosted b16 first gen up to 8200-8400 all the time.. the rev limiter is at 8450.. everything is good on it.. cept the lma's need to be replaced..

i go to 8500 all day...and sometimes 9 when i cant shift fast enough when boost hits....i had an incident when i was allmotor...i went to 9700 on a mis shift...thought my car was done...just put the spark plug back in and it was good....but anyways i wouldnt really be worried....take it to 8500 all day

Why would you need to be that high in the revs for 5-10 seconds? elt alone greater then 30 seconds! You houdl only ever be abobe 8000RPM for a SPLTI second. If you're there for longer then that then you're going way too fast for the needle to be climbing that slow or something lol. I take my stocker to 8600. boosted.

took my stock na b16 to 9200 a few times, sucked. cams amke no power after 8500.

i plan on taking my 84.5mm fully built ls/vtec with fully built gsr head to 10k plus
