would the stock internals on the 1.5 sohc be able to handle 8000 rpm on a daily driver?

 

What are you running external? ie: turbo/sc and is the bottom end and the head stock?

 

a stock dx head stops making power at around 5500-6000 rpms. so why would you want to rev it that high? and you would hit the rev limter.

I/H/E ain't sh#t man. IF you had no rev limiter you would tell as you go higher and higher in the rpm range that after a certain rpm, the motor is working itself out and not making any power at all. It happened in my pos sohc 1.5 (EF motor).
If you want to blow that motor up real quick then yea go ahead.

i was using nos with no rev.... oh snap 8000 grand came and went hit 9000 and dropped a valve...

 

the stock valve springs will give up at 8k.
