Default how high can i rev

is it safe to rev a stock d16y7 to 8000 rpm i know it doesent make power N/A up that high but i have a t3/04e turbo tuned at 10 psi on crome i messed up and didnt change the rev limit form the p30 rom it was at 8120 and i hti the limiter cause its a dx i didnt realize it till i checked my datalog on crome is it safe to rev to 8000 ?? cause i was still pulling pretty hard j/w i dont wanna fubar it up by doing it too much

i would just rechip it, using the maps you got now, and set the limiter so it doesnt happen again. eventually it will go boom at that high rpm. it will pull until it blows its boosted, but that doesnt mean the internals can take it.

Why do you need to rev to 8000. You lose power around 7400 anyways.

im still making good power at 7500 rpm cause of the turbo .. can the head take it is what im asking.. if it blows like i care ive got my pistons and rods sitting in my room just havent had time to rip it down and get the block notched for the rods.. can the head take it or do i need to upgrade valves springs and retainers

well, theres a bunch that can go wrong, float a valve, drop a valve, oil pump go out, etc. etc. etc. just dont do it, unless its built for it.

with ur 10 PSI, if you keep revving in that high with a stock block/head on stock internals, ur going to expletive something up, SOON
