cool. since using a y8 head instead of a z6 head, my compression is going to rise. i head of people pulling 1 or layers of the steel headgasket apart. is this something i should do to keep my compression down a little like it would be using a z6 head since im boosted.

y8 head on b7 block yields more compression than z6 head on b7 block and that setup already makes pretty high compression. Since you are boosting you should just stick to the y8 headgasket and do not remove any layers from it. Doing so will only raise the compression.
