Why thos gears? keep the 1st and 2nd for acceleration..? whats so great about the ZC 3rd and 4th? is the 2nd to 3rd ratio closer? than the y8 3rd? and the 3rd to 4th zc ration closer than the 3rd to 4th y8? and i assume the vx or cx 5th because its such a dogish gear and will save a ton on gas. seriously want to know. thanks

Yeah the y8 is prob the best d series tranny. My car currently has one and its good except the fact that it has 190k miles on it. Still shifts good, though it doesnt have much feel. gonna be tossing it out when I do my b18c swap in a few weeks...

even though its cable, the zc lsd tranny is good too. it also uses an int. shaft so both axles are equal length.

Because ZC 3rd and 4th are shorter than the Z6/Y8 3rd and 4th gears. Then, you can use a long gear for 5th, to save on gas for highway runs.

People shouldn't be quoting material that is not theirs. Shame on you.

Longer gears are not better for turbo set ups. HOLY ******* ****! Whoever said that needs a swift kick in the *****. Honestly, think about it. "Yea, lets make the gears longer so it takes longer for the turbo to spool and we can go slower! HURRAY!!!!!! I'M A JENIOUS!" Morons.

A y8 tranny is perfect for any set-up cause D-series trannies are NOT made for acceration whatsoever.
