What's the deal with FMIC?
I tried using the search option but didn't find enough info on this:
Why is it that a bigger intercooler can be the cause to loss of power?
Between the regular intercooler and the larger one which one do you think would be a better option for a stock LS with a Greddy Turbo kit. Keep in mind that no major horsepower gains are in plans, but do want to raise to 8-9 lbs boost in the near future. I was told that it would be better to get the larger one if planning on raising boost, but I also heard that the turbo can't produce enough flow to fill in the big intercoolers.
Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.
If you are only looking to boost around 8-9 psi I would go ahead and try a JohnnyRaceCar 8" or 6" intercooler. They work awsome for stock setups. My boy ran their budget 150$ small intercooler on his stock SOHC and it was fine, 12.2 in the 1/4 outta a stock SOHC turbo on a VAFC hack? Thats proof enough to me that those intercoolers will be fine

Larger intercooler = more pressure drop across the intercooler. You would have to turn up the boost higher to get the same boost at the throttle body as you were getting before w/ a smaller intercooler.

Yeah that is what I would of had thought too. If you're running a low boost level then theres no need to go with a big intercooler that practically takes up the whole space of your front bumper like I've seen on some of the guys around my area. They think its all about the bling but little do they know
Also choose your piping and inlet/oulet diameter carefully too, bigger isnt always better.
