Default fuel pressure problem

ok on my 90 teg the pressure was at 38-40 psi i have a gauge on the fuel filter. I installed a zex wet kit on my car the other night and the gauge read 40psi so i thought it was ok. Well today the gauge reads 30psi and zex recomends 38psi atleast. When i pull the vacume line off the regulator it jumps to 42psi but once the line is attached again it drops to 30psi. With the key to accessory it reads 38 but once i start the car it drops to 30 and holds. Is it because of the increased area for the pump to pressurize since its a wet kit? should i upgrade the pump and regulator?

I dont think it should have dropped much, but get a fpr and see if you can get it back up to around 40. Also, amke sure your pump can handle the extra fuel demand, it should... but make sure before blowing ur block up.
