Default Exhaust Smoke

Just wondering what it could be that is wrong with my car if I am emitting white smoke from my exhaust. I thought it was a blown headgasket at first but after replacing the head gasket I noticed that well... the first one wasn't even blown. Then I thought maybe the head was warped and oil was leaking in but put a new head on there and it was properly machined and has a new gasket.

Just wondering if maybe, like the piston rings were damaged if oil could get in the cylinder that way, thus burn oil the same as if the head gasket were blown?

Edit - Also, while I'm asking stupid questions, what shoudl the clearance on the spark plugs in my car be if it's 16valve and 1.5L. I looked under my hood and didn't find anything that told what the clearance should be. I think I might have the sparkplugs closed up too much.

more than likely u will have to replace ur valve seals...when they are worn out oil gets into the combustion chamber and the result is white smoke...if ur ever doubting the well being of ur motor i would suggest a leakdown test..but to me the problem sounds like valve seals
