Default new to boost...bad head gasket?

I just got my revhard 2c on a few days ago, I have been easy on the car to break it in, just a little boost. I notice that I can hear detonation a little when boost comes on in 2nd or 3rd, but the exhaust gas temp is not getting too hot, and the a/f guage is saying rich. I notice that the car smells a little like oil once in a while, but not excessively. Also i can see smoke coming from the valve cover breather when the car idles. Would this be my head gasket? T here is no oil in the antifreeze, no loss of anti-freeze, and no smoke out the exhaust, and no loss of oil. Any Ideas on what this may be...If the head gasket, what is the best replacement?

Thanks, sorry about the length

From what I've seen alot of smoke from the breather hole or oil cap is either bad ring landings or cracked cylinder wall. My friend boosted his gsr and blew his ring landings.

Sorry mang, good luck. Hope its nothing too bad.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by VanHonda &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">there is no oil in the antifreeze, no loss of anti-freeze, and no smoke out the exhaust, and no loss of oil

That rules out headgasket and cracked sleeves. Cound be your pistons. Do a compression check or leakdown and THEN get back to us. No more of this guessing game
